Resources
A) Books and Websites on XML Schema
- Definitive XML Schema, by Patricia Walmsley, Prentice-Hall, Dec 2001. I haven't
read it, but it gets good reviews for clarity and for having good examples.
- XML Schema, by Eric van der Vlist, O'Reilly and Associates, 2002. I've
used this book, and found it useful and mostly clear.
- The XML Schema Complete Reference, by Cliff Binstock, et al.,
Addison-Wesley, 2003. A newer book -- Have heard no feedback about it.
- and lots of others .. (see Amazon or other book sites for complete lists).
-- An article by Eric van der Vlist on using XML schema -- pretty good introduction: if
you like this, you'll also like Eric's book (see above).
- http://www.xfront.com/ -- Roger Costello has
prepared an excellent tutorial package on XML Schema, with many examples. YOu can
access and downlaod if from Roger's 'Xfront' web site. Note also a useful collection of
XML Schema best practices, also accessible from this site.
A collection of slides / information material on XML schema and other XML technologies.
I find this site quite clear, if not as complete as other references.
- http://www.w3.org/TR/xmlschema-0/ -- The
Primer for XML Schema is a useful introduction, if somewhat more formal than the above
material.
